While in some points I agree with you're anti war attitude, I still somewhat support the war. It's actually kind of complex but I'll try to explain my view. Mr. Gortney said to our class that we don't have to want the war, but now that it's here you should support it for the soldiers out there fighting the war. I definately agree with him on that because there is nothing we can do now even if Bush doesn't want the war anymore. It's already started and it won't end until too many people die and we finally have some kind of treaty, or they meet our demands. It's funny how war works actually.. I don't think I'll ever understand the point of it when you can solve so many things diplomatically. Anyway, there is another factor that should come to mind if you are anti-war. If we didn't act right now, then Iraq or North Korea, or some other terrorist country will attack us [again]. And we all know North Korea has got a shit load of nuclear crap. So would you rather wait for them to attack us and other innocent places? How many innocent lives will we lose then? Little children who know nothing about this war can just die like that. I think it might be better for the trained soliders who joined the army and navy, etc... who are willing to die for our country try to protect us. If they didn't want to do any of those things, then why did they sign up? And I guess there is some hope that by us attacking Iraq, we might "win" pretty quickly and everything will be normal again. And maybe.. Just maybe, very few lives were taken on both sides. I know it's hard to believe, but right now, all you can do is hope for the best right? Honestly, what you say makes plenty of sense, but what I just said brings up a good point too. I'm not disagreeing with anything you said because I respect your opinion. And I honestly think I am selfish and you are too. Because if you weren't then you would take action rather than just talk about it. You can't blame your self because everyone is selfish in some ways... And those people who do watch American Idol and crap might just be trying to stop thinkin about everything. That's why those shows are on, it's to help America through these hard times. It helps us escape for short periods of time. But yea, there are plenty of people who don't care. But you never really know if they care or not...
