Ever since this year started, Dr. Quach has been asking me about colleges at every appointment. In his old age, and probably because of the month long gap between our last meetings, he repeats the same shit to me every time. Well, it's not the EXACT same shit, but it's close enough so that I want to strangle him for pausing halfway with his tools still in my mouth to elaborate on his brillant college advice. When the hell will this college madness end? It started junior year, and it will probably last until.. I was about to say graduation, but I'm sure college will be a big conversation starter throughout the summer, and after four years, upon earning your bachelors degree, graduate school will be another oh-so-fun conversation topic. Great. Oh! And after you get out of grad school, people will ask you where you went to college and identify you with the college you went to. YAY. It's never going to end.
My friend Lena went to Boston for three/fourish days this past week for some young senators shit, or some random ass program that she asked me to join before. Shit. While she was there, she also looked at east coast Ivy Leagues and came back convinced that she wants to go to college in the east coast.
My brothers are biased. They're all still in California, so they're very much anti-east-coast. I probably can't handle such a big move anyway, but the rebel in me just wants that damn option of going east. VASSAR HAS 1,000 ACRE CAMPUS I WANT TO SEE IT DAMN IT GR.
This week was so annoying. Lets list the annoyances!
1. SAT scores came out on Monday. Fran called me at 5 am and again at 6:30 to try to get me to check my SAT score. WTF? Okay that was forgivable since I ignored her first call and needed to wake up early to study anyway. BUT JESUS. All day long I heard, "OMG I'M NOT GOING TO GET INTO COLLEGE NOW! *PAUSE* WHAT DID YOU GET? ["Not that great, 1980"] SO WHAT! AT LEAST THAT'S BETTER THAN ME! I'M NEVER GOING TO COLLEGE. MY LIFE IS RUINED. WHAT DO I DO" Shit that was annoying. I don't think I even need to explain why.
2. STAR Testing. Less class time = tests pushed nearer and nearer AP exams. FUCK YOU. That wasn't directed towards anyone because I don't know who to blame for star testing.
3. Psych. Kwong told us that we have a Social Psychology test on the same day as the APUSH exam. SO, half of our class has to retake it on Monday. That sounds fair, right? BUT NO!!!!! We also have a final on Monday! PLUS that 50 page outline is also mandatory. That news stressed me out, a lot.
4. Junior prom. "OMG IT'S THIS WEEKEND. WHO ARE YOU GOING WITH?" i'm not going. "WHY?! OMG ANNA. ARE YOU GOING TO STUDY FOR APS?" i don't know, but i planned to go, then my date couldn't go, so i decided to save myself the stress and not go. "BUT ANNA!! EVERYONE IS GOING! YOU HAVE TO GO" There were a few variations including... "OMG ANNA I'M GONNA CALL YOU FROM JUNIOR PROM AND BE LIKE SHIT WHY AREN'T YOU HERE" "JUST GO TO SEE EVERYONE DRESSED UP!" "DON'T BE A NERD AND STAY AT HOME STUDYING FOR APS" Wow people were just killing me with that shit. I didn't mind the constant explaining as much as having to pause whatever I'm doing, wasting my time, to talk to them about such stupid shit. time = precious people. get with it.
That's ordered by level of annoying-ness.
I'm craving some hot cheetos or some hot cheeto flavored chips right now. omg. my mouth is watering. I told Andrew I was going to sleep when I called him, but I lied because I'm feeling reclusive right now. Besides, I resent everyone that is going to prom because they can obviously prioritize their time well enough to go.
Social psychology is stupid. It's all really relvevant, but I don't think they should call it a freaking science.
