Piles
Today in Econ, my teacher taught us about the "tragedy of the commons," which is the theory that if a good is not individually owned, people will abuse it. My teacher believes that kids and people in general develop bad habits like not picking up after themselves at home. To prove his point, he asked the class who had messy rooms. I was about to raise my hand, except he said messy rooms with clothes on the floor. He saw that I was about to admit to having a messy room and called me out on it. I said I have a messy room, but it's filled with piles of papers, not clothes. I heard various voices behind me murmur in agreement.
It then occured to me at that moment how similar most, if not all, Lowell students are in their habits. Tidiness and organization is second priority to the next test, project, or homework assignment that needs to be completed and turned in the next day. And because our parents recognize how precious time is to us, they don't constantly scold us about cleaning up after ourselves.
If you take a quick look at my room, you'll notice that there are small piles of stuff everywhere. Piles of books, piles of folders and papers, piles of boxes; i don't even like piles.
Speaking of piles, school work is piling up like crazy. Gov't and Econ finals next week on the same day. My eyes are SO irritated every night. There's a really strange kind of satisfaction I get after I rub my eye for a while. It's probably only satisfying because my mom always tells me not to rub my eyes....
freaking so many tangents.
GOOD NEWS. 25% curve on calc test = i went from a 64% to a 89%!!! weeeeeeee!
