I'm not sure why I always leave my history readings until the Sunday night before the assignments are due because I have to try to force myself to read 100 pages all in one sitting. For the last few weeks, I've been pretty good at cramming in readings to answer the essay prompt, but I literally cannot stay awake or focus long enough to read all the material needed to answer the question. I skimmed through half of the reading and made a blanket statement about what the author is trying to say. I think it's a dumb ass question anyway...... Why do we always have to compare the methods used by two different authors? They aren't even making arguments about the same topic so it does not make any sense to me why we are comparing them. I should ask my GSI about it.
History is by far my favorite class so far. Although it is more work than I ever bargained for, I actually do finish all the readings by the time I go to section each week. That means my Monday nights are often spent at the library.
I haven't gotten around to reading for Poli Sci yet, which is horrible because I'm falling more and more behind every week. Honestly, the readings are so dry because it's an intro course and we are currently learning the methods and political science jargon used in analyzing different countries' political systems. It really doesn't help that the professor is incredibly boring and likes to give extended examples that I can't pay attention to. Seriously, who gives examples that take up more than 15 minutes? The attention span of any person is less than 15 minutes..... I swear it can't just be me. The worse part is that the lecture hall is dim as fuck and the seats are plush and therefore induce sleep in sleep deprived students such as myself.
Chinese class is just freaking the biggest rip off class ever. Three units and I find myself studying for it nearly every single day. Seriously? THREE UNITS? That's just not right.
Work from CUBS is piling up, too. Small organizations are good in the sense that you have a lot of influence, but bad in the sense that if you want something done, there is no one else to share the work with.
Only five weeks (not even FULL weeks!) of school and I'm already looking like a panda every day. I need to manage my time better.
