Milestones

I just want to take note of several important things that happened this weekend:
1. Indian Pizza
YEAH! There's this place called Golden Gate Indian Cuisine and Pizza on Judah and 44th(ish) on the same block as the 7-11 that makes pizza and Indian food. Naturally, they have an Indian pizza special and we got an extra large pizza to devour between four people. I was full until the next morning when I woke up, but it was delicious. I even tried something called chili cheese naan, which I thought was going to be American-styled chili and cheese on top of naan, but the chili is actually poorly translated Jalapeno. It was very spicy but delicious. Thanks to Gordon, my tolerance for spicy food as improved enormously. Nevertheless, I still saved half of it for him because my tongue started feeling numb.

2. Grandma's funeral (June 6, 2009)
Well this is just a final means for me to achieve closure, by noting it as an important event of the past. Noteables include: a Vietnamese, Harvard-graduate Monk that chanted in a Southern Vietnamese accent so thick I could not dicipher more than a few words. Praying to 'Guan Yin Po Sat'on my knees for about 30 minutes on the day of the wake and on the day of the funeral. New found respect for monks who pray because it is not easy to hold your arms in prayer position that long. It's just hard. The chanting is actually really beautiful and I wouldn't mind having that at my funeral. It's amazing how much clarity I achieved during that time just reminiscing about my grandma. My two oldest brothers gave ulogies. Normally during a funeral, my parents take care of everything, but I felt much more involved this time. RIP June 12, 1921 - May 14, 2009 Peace and Love

3. Told my parents about Gordon
uhhh Well this part sort of backfired on me because after I told Gordon about this, he sounded really unenthusiastic and detached. I can't say I didn't feel at least a pang of regret at that time. I believe he said "I just don't have anything to say" towards the end of our conversation. I mean, it's always a good sign to be so bored with one another that there's nothing else to say right? My mom told me not to get in too deep (well, that's the gist of it) and maybe she is right. Kind of sucks though. I knew I shouldn't have told them! I just thought things were going smoothly lately but I guess he's just not voicing his dissatisfaction. Love and Loss? It's so hard not to care when you want the relationship to grow, but it's so painful to care too much. Falling in love is like giving someone the ability to crush you. I guess the point is to fall in love with someone who wouldn't.
