A few answered questions
Lately, I've been trying to take refuge at work as a desparate attempt to avoid my family and occasionally, my friends. I used work as an excuse to be a "mole", as Eliza would call it, when I just felt like being a loser and staying at home. My cousins Alice, Andrea, and Ann just came today from Pennsylvania. In all honesty, I was possibly TOO reluctant about their visit. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to see them, but I feel as if there's nothing left for me to do in this city for the rest of this summer except lounge and get ready for school. Their trip is making me very nervous about the start of school, seeing as how I haven't started any of my summer reading yet. I've already made it clear to my parents that it is not my duty to take them anywhere. I'm at the point in my life where I need "ME" time whenever I feel like it. Until today at Latchkey, after everyone left, I didn't understand the reason why I felt like being by myself all the time. I feel different than others, because most kids these days WANT to see their friends and hang out all summer. I don't mind seeing them, but I'd rather relax forever. xP
As lame as it sounds, I said to my parents: I didn't get to hang out with my friends at all this summer, as the excuse to not be the person who takes the girls around the city. I, of course, lied about that, but there is no way anyone would understand why I feel this way.
I kind of understand myself a little better, but not completely; hence the "a FEW answered questions" entry title.
I tagged along with the kids to go to the ExplOratorium today. I felt a bit cheated, because I was so convinced that it would be a fun trip! What the hell happened? It was definitely fun when I went with Gortney's class in the 8th grade. I still had a little fun I guess. The shadow room is still by far the coolest thing there!
We left early and got back to Latchkey quickstyle. After that, we probably played over 2 hours of deuces. Wait, probably 3+ hours, then I played speed with Robin and just talked about random crap. Anything to not go home and see people that actually know me. There at work, I am how I present myself. They don't know what past mistakes or anything like that. I don't think I can really let go. blah I'm shockingly exhausted, seeing as how it's not even 12 yet. I'm getting OLD -__-
