Damn this is such an exciting time in politics, honestly. I can't believe how many of my previously politically apathetic friends are engaging in heated discussions about the upcoming presidential election!! I'm so happy!!!

This election is going to be truly historical. While I know that Obama will get California regardless of whether or not I vote, it's still really exciting to feel like I'm voting in this election!! wEeeeeee. Just think about it, we had our first real female contender for the presidential bid! And now we have a female VP candidate (just ignore the fact that she's a stupid and inexperienced)! And we are seriously going to have a black president! Even though the US is supposed to set the standards for democracy for the rest of the world, we were sure slower than other countries that embraced female and multi-ethnic political leaders. But considering how entrenched our history is in precedents and tradition, this is fucking HUGE.

I haven't had the time to keep up with the different propositions in California, but after Wednesday, I'm going to spend hours and hours on my beloved laptop reading up on all the initiatives. In the mean time, I'll be burying myself in Middle Eastern history and the principles of business governing production and quality. haha. All I know is, Prop 8 better not pass. We would be taking a million steps backward as a state if that happens. Hopefully people put aside their religious beliefs about the sanctity of marriage and see that this is just straight up about equality.
