Because the end of the semester is approaching, I feel the pressure to maintain my grades and work my ass off to bring up my grades in APUSH. I really hate to whine about a relatively decent grade, but I can't help it. I got an 80 on my last Precalc test, which 48% of the class got 100% on. The test was composed of 5 problems, and I mislabled one portion of one problem, resulting in total error in that entire problem. That was 20 points down the drain because of my carelessness. Although I know that most people will read this and say that I'm a dumbass for bitching about a B, all I can say in my own defense is that my priorities and goals are probably just different from their's. I don't want to have worked so hard for two trimesters, and mess my grades up at the last minute. It just wouldn't be worth it, and I would be very sad if that did happen. Honestly, I don't think I've ever worked harder in school so far in my life, and I think I more or less deserve the grades I've earned thus far. That includes the good, but especially the bad.
So far this school year, I've put more pressure on myself than I ever intended to. I took on a lot of responsibilities because I thought I was capable and because I thought it would look good on my transcript. After a few weeks of hitting rock bottom, I realized that although I need to reach the goals I've set for myself, my health and my happiness should be of the foremost importance. There's always a lesson to be learned from the bad, and I think I learned a very important one this year.
But at the same time, I feel as though I've lost one of the most important things in my life. And that thing is, of course, countless friendships and bonds that I built over the years. It might just be my imagination, but I don't feel it there anymore. Half the time, I just feel alone. That's not to say that no one cares, because they do. I personally just don't feel it.
I have to hold out until the end of this semester. I didn't work this hard for nothing. Nothing can stand in my way. But somehow, I feel that this attitude will lead to my demise..
