On the way to Ortho yesterday, something struck me. Watching the hundreds of cars pass mine on the freeway made me wonder, "do all those people have a destination?" Everyone seemed to be going way over the speed limit, like my dad was, so I assumed that most of the cars had a place to be. But I'm sure there weree those who were driving just to get away from somewhere and without a destination in mind.
I see myself as a car without a destination. In school and in life, I feel as though I know I have to get somewhere, thus getting in the car and driving, but I have no destination in mind, thus mindlessly driving ahead. With a car, if you drive too long, you'll run out of gas. With no where to go, you're basically just wasting gas. That's exactly what I feel like right now. All my efforts in school are analogous to petroleum, it's expensive and not easy to come by, but I just keep wasting it with a nebulous journey. Without a place to go, fuel is running low and the car is about to stop.
