I'm a terrible judge of character. There are certain aspects of personality that I deeply admire and one of my shortcomings is that I focus on what I want to see more than who the person actually is. Personalities have many dimensions, and different people get to see different dimensions of a person's personality.
When I talk to someone one on one, it's always pleasant and what not. But in a group of people, I'm not fond of this person at all. This person is overly sarcastic and patronizes and belittles everyone. So with that in mind, how am I supposed to interpret that person? How do I feel about this person? On the one hand, this person is awesome one on one and never directs any of his/her mean comments at me. But on the other hand, I know this dimension exists within this person, so wtf? Do I like them or not? In reality, I actually focus on the good and try to deny the bad. Recently, the bad has been shadowing the good, so now what do I do?
It feels like I'm out of control when I can't make a decision about how I feel about a person. This doesn't actually make sense.
Even though it's cliche as hell the quote "you think you know... but you have no idea" is really true. How can you ever be 100% sure of a person and his/her intentions? I guess you don't. But I'm currently choosing the path in which I give people the benefit of the doubt and assume the best about everyone. Maybe this is due to my temporary end-of-the-year euphoric high.
I don't know. I feel lost because I have no schedule. I have nothing real to do. Time to look up some of the summer reading books.
Actions are supposed to speak louder than words. But what if your action is speaking the words. Both are interwined. People need to get over themselves and stop believing that they are better than everyone else. I need to stop thinking that I'm above any one.
