Cheap or just plain broke?
I'm really really broke right now. As in, I owe up to a thousand dollars that I don't have. It's a little annoying for me to tell people that I'm broke and have them point out that I could have saved money by NOT buying a SIGG bottle and watching two movies instead. Okay that's all great advice, but I already bought the bottle and have been enjoying it for quite some time now, so since I cannot retroactively change that decision, just stop hounding me to do things that cost money.
On Friday, I was in the car with my friends going back to SF. They picked me up from Berkeley because they were nearby having dinner with another friend. I didn't have dinner with them because I was broke, but I told them it was because I had already ate. On the car ride back, I was incredibly hungry so I literally asked my friend for bread at his house. Bread and nutella and a banana. That was SO FUCKING delicious you don't even know. I got fed, that's the point, but I still feel like really pathetic because I had to ask him for food. -_-
I will be working a few hours this summer, but I'll hardly be able to pay back all of this money I owe. I also told myself that I would save money I made this summer for my future laptop. I think I will try to stick to that plan and see how far I get.
So being broke has made me notice how unfair the distribution of expenses is at my apartment. I bring a lot of food, if not a majority of the edible stuff. I didn't realize how much money I spent on food until we bought like 11 items at Costco and it cost $125. WHOA. Before, I didn't think my parents helped me out that much by purchasing food, but holy crap they are saving my ass. If I had to buy food to feed my expensive tastes, I would go broke. Knowing how much all the food costs this time, I don't want to share it. I need to eat it until its gone and thats it. If that makes me stingy, then oh well, at least I'll save money.
