It's really funny to me how there are SO many people out there who hide behind their online aliases. I know so many people who are unable to even have real arguements and serious conversations in person because they're so used to picking fights online where nearly all emotion or at least insenity of emotion is lost through the keyboard.

Although I agree that the internet is a good place to express yourself because one feels less inhibited when in the comforts of their own home, I think it's pathetic that people who are super popular and interesting online are just big dull duds in real life.

Most of my winterbreak has been spent indoors due to inclimate (for SF standards at least) weather, and I've found myself rotting in front of the computer all day long. I'm becoming less and less adept to human interaction! o_O

I remember Mr. Hathwell saying that constantly communicating through email was demeaning, and I'm starting to agree. I'd much rather establish a presence out in the real world rather than on the internet. I don't want to get too caught up on all those online things, but I'm probably as guilty as those I'm criticizing.

But, at least I'm an outgoing person. I feel like that's the line separating me from internet dork and regular human.

At this moment, I definitely don't want a laptop. Come on.. those things are like portable dork-creating machines! With wireless internet becoming more and more accessible, people will be carrying around their laptops, tapping away at the keyboard rather than interacting with the people sitting right next to them.

Whenever I'm around strangers, I have this really strong desire to start talking to them and asking them questions. On a bus, if I seem dazed, it's because I'm thinking about whether or not I should be bold and ask a stranger some crazy personal question. Most of the time, I hold myself back because I get off at nearly the last stop when I'm going home from any where, so I don't want to sit through a long bus ride with people thinking I'm crazy.

I'm so scatter-brained. I have so much shit going on my mind right now.

At least I'm reading again. Finishing my last Dan Brown book. Besides his effortlessly impressive writing style, I'm really beginning to appreciate all the research that he puts into his work. A lot of thriller/mystery novels talk about government/bureaucracy, and thanks to my AP Gov't class, I can make sense of the things mentioned in the book. :)

I used to reveal so much of myself on the internet. I don't even know what happened. I feel so insecure now.
