I've never been the person who says "whatever" and lets things go. That's seriously my biggest flaw as a person. I can't let anything go. My mom says that I'm going to have a really hard life in the future because I want to live in an "utopia" (translated from Chinese, so the conntation isn't exact, but basically a world where everything is perfect) and it's just not realistic. My mom says she's kind of uptight and a perfectionist at times, but learned to let things slide when she had kids. I hope that happens for me, too.

At Chinese school, we were learning about Mencius and his teachings about familial piety, which I also learned in Chinese class at school. From both discussions, I realized that foreigners really have the wrong perception of Americans. Some of the stereotypes that come with being American are: being overweight, being independent, not respecting your elders, and so on. But when I think about all my non-Chinese friends, I think their parents teach them similar values that I learned from my parents. So it just goes to show you the "we" and "they" perception everyone feels towards foreigners. Er, actually I don't think anyone understands that unless they were in AP Gov't. -_-

I just came back from swimming and wow, I really should have learned earlier because I love being in the water. My endorphins get pumping and I feel a small high afterwards. It's gone after I take a shower, but still, that feeling is really nice.

Keep trying. Keep trying. As long as you keep trying, no one can blame you when things get fucked up. It's worst to give up than to try and fail.
