With Eliza having a job now, I'm becoming more aware of how broke I always am and how money really does link to a lot of intangible emotions such as happiness. Shallow as it may seem, you all know it's true that money can buy at least temporary happiness. Being broke all the time is a bitch. I think everyone can firmly agree on that, but it's really annoying when you're prevented from doing certain things like say, hanging out with your friends, because you don't have disposable income. It hasn't happened yet, but I'm going to anticipate its arrival soon because I'm realistic like that.
I've definitely considered small jobs such as tutoring or baby sitting, but now that I think about it seriously, I can't even imagine where any of it can fit into my schedule. I hate to always put the blame it, but Chinese Club requires me to put aside too much time to make it run smoothly. I doubt I'm the only officer that feels that Chinese Club is a burden, but the responsiblity is definitely shouldered mostly by Karen and I. So basically, I have to go to club on Thursday and we have officer meetings sometime during the week to discuss and reflect about club that week as well as plan for the following week. That's two days out of the week. Then if you take into account all the time we spend emailing each other about the week's activity, I think it's fair to add another day to that tally. The freak? And then there's my other club, GSA! They've noticed a pattern in my year-long club attendence, and brought it to my attention at the last meeting. In the spring semester, my GSA attendence gradually reaches a hault, and to prevent that, I'm going to be Vice President during spring semester. In addition to that, I know Jack always asks for my opinion on club matters, so that means I must also put in that little extra amount of time to help him. I have a hunch that I'll eventually take over advertising for the club too. That is indefinite, but most people never stay dedicated to the club responsilibities they take on during the early part of the school year.
This is just going to be a long ranting post, so I don't expect anyone to read on.
Saturday mornings have been and always will be occupied by Chinese school. Although I've reached the point where I no longer have the time or motivation to learn, I still go and sit there for three hours a day, trying to get something out of school. Saturday after noons are free so far, YAY. Maybe I can fit something in that slot. SO does anyone know of any small job opportunities available?! I want money to buy a new portable music player, and I need money so I can have a social life. They're both not vital to my existance, but they are vital to my happiness. haha. Plus, no money = no hanging out with el china buddies. -_-
I've lost sight of why I began this post in the first place, but it's one of the more satisfying entries I've typed in a while.
