Infected

So my upper cartilage piercing is officially infected. There's a huge bump behind my ear and I suspect that it's killed with pus. My initial reaction was that it would go away if I squeezed all the pus out and wiped the area with alcohol daily. Wow that was a wrong move. I think that bump got harder and after a while, I started to squeeze blood out of the little hole in my ear. Yet, the bump is still there, as hard as ever. Since my mom already noticed the piercing, I didn't try to hide the infection from her when she walked into my room and saw me sitting in front of a mirror with multiple cotton balls and a bottle of rubbing alcohol. She's trying to make me a doctors appointment to get the thing checked out. I'm pretty freaked out because I looked up some of the worse-case scenerios of upper ear cartilage infections, and it turns out that I may possibly have a hard-to-kill-off bacterial infection. But the stupid part is that I don't want to take the piercing out and let the hole heal. What are the chances that I get to get my ear repierced? My mom wants me to take it out and reheal, but I will only do it if my ear is seriously at risk.

Now, I've decided to not get the industrial piercing simply because I'm very remiss about taking care of myself. I can't possibly pay special attention to TWO HOLE piercing if I can't even take care of one now. But who knows, maybe I'll become more daring and rebellious in the future and decide to get it. For the time being, I think I'll stick to two lobes and this upper cartilage piercing if I can manage to heal it.

This week is turning out to be kind of sucky.
